Leader Development and Training
- Our leader development and training is informed by this definition of leadership: “Leadership is an influence relationship between leaders and followers who intend real changes that reflect their mutual purposes.” (Joseph Rost in Leadership for the 21st Century)
- This means leadership is essentially influence without authority, manipulation, or coercion, but with personal credibility
- The leadership relationship is not one-dimensional and one-directional but multidimensional. The leader is not a dictator but one who incorporates all perspectives and encourages the influence of all team members for the common good.
- The leadership relationship involves getting better, improving, empowering and growing, not simply maintaining the status quo.
- Leadership reflects the ambitious, desirable future and the reason and purpose for existence common among the members.
